Entertainment Tonight Online top performances of Tribeca
"...it's Marika Engelhardt -- a working actress seen in episodes of Easy, Empire and Chicago Med -- who really shines as a distraught music teacher and mother of the missing teen. Her performance is both funny and painful to watch."

The Hollywood Reporter
"Engelhardt deserves special mention as Carolyn’s deliciously unhinged mother, who is driven to tragicomic extremes of sexual and sartorial behavior by the loss of a daughter she half loves and half envies."

I was born in Oregon, conceived in France, and learned to walk in Germany, which probably explains most of what you need to know about me, but here's more: After studying English at Lewis and Clark College and teaching English for a year in Paris, I moved to Chicago to get my MFA in acting at DePaul University so that I could have two degrees that are hard to monetize. I currently live in Chicago where I'm an actress, teacher, and writer. Acting credits include Empire, Chicago Fire, The Chi, Easy on Netflix, HBO's Somebody, Somewhere and recurring roles on Amazon's Patriot and the new Amazon series Paper Girls. My starring role in the feature film Knives and Skin, which premiered at the the Berlin and Tribeca film festivals, was singled out as one of the "Top Ten Performances of Tribeca 2019" by Entertainment Tonight. That was pretty cool. I am an adjunct Professor at the DePaul Theatre School and an essay of mine, "And What if Lolita Had a Pen", was recently published by Expat Press.
Fun fact: in another life I worked in film distribution and once sold the international rights to the Gary Busey comedy Bikini Model Academy to Benelux. Sorry, Benelux.
